ROBOTIC FLY INVENTED
Researchers at the Robotics Laboratory of the Technion High Technology Institute (Haifa, Israel), have created a miniature robotic fly that can move through veins and arteries. This invention will be used to diagnose and treat some arterial blockages, circulatory and cardiovascular problems, cholesterol and
cancer.
The fly, that measures less than 1 mm. , is introduced to the body by means of a small incision, until it is situated in the veins and arteries through which it keeps moving, impelled by a magnet from the outside.
According to the explanation of the researchers responsible for the study, this artificial animal moves at the speed of 9 mm/second using its tiny metallic arms that hold on to the walls of the blood vessels. The team of researchers, under the direction of Prof. Moshe Shaham, continue to perfect their invention, providing it with minuscule cameras to enable it to reach the last of the body capillaries.

INVENTAN MOSCA ROBOT
Investigadores del Laboratorio de Robótica del Instituto de Alta Tecnología Technion de Haifa (Israel) han creado una mosca robot en miniatura capaz de moverse por las venas y arterias. El invento servirá para diagnosticar y tratar algunos bloqueos arteriales, problemas circulatorios y cardiovasculares, colesterol y cáncer. La mosca, que mide cerca de un milímetro, se introduce en el cuerpo mediante una pequeña incisión hasta situarla en las venas y arterias a través de las cuales se va moviendo impulsada por un imán desde el exterior. Según explicaron los responsables del estudio, este animal artificial se mueve a una velocidad de nueve milímetros por segundo utilizando sus minúsculos brazos metálicos que se sujetan en las paredes de los vasos sanguíneos. El equipo de investigadores, dirigido por el profesor Moshe Shaham, continúan actualmente perfeccionando su invento dotándole de minúsculas cámaras para poder llegar hasta el último capilar del cuerpo.
