Despite the significant improvement in today's vote (25 in favor, 6 against and 11 abstentions) when compared with the original vote (12Jan09) establishing the Goldstone Mission (33 in favor, 1 against and 13 abstentions), Israel rejects the one-sided resolution adopted today in Geneva by the UN Human Rights Council, and calls upon all responsible states to reject it as well.
Israel expresses its gratitude to those states which supported its position, and to those which, through their vote, expressed their opposition to this un-just Resolution which ignores the murderous attacks perpetrated by the Hamas and other terrorist organizations against Israeli civilians. The Resolution also ignores the unprecedented precautions taken by Israeli forces in order to avoid harming civilians, as well as the cynical exploitation of civilians as human shields by the terrorist groups.
The adoption of this resolution by the UNHRC impairs both the effort to protect human rights in accordance with international law, and the effort to promote peace in the
Israel will continue to exercise its right to self-defense, and take action to protect the lives of its citizens.

Israel rechaza la decisión unilateral adoptada hoy en Ginebra por el Consejo para los Derechos Humanos de las Naciones Unidas,
A pesar de una mejoría significativa en la votación de hoy ( 25 a favor, 6 en contra y 11 abstenciones) al compararlo con la votación original (12/1/09) estableciendo la Misión Goldstone (33 a favor, 1 en contra y 13 abstenciones), Israel rechaza la resolución unilateral adoptada hoy en Ginebra por el Consejo para los Derechos Humanos de las Naciones Unidas y exhorta a todos los estados responsables a rechazarlo también.
Israel expresa su gratitud hacia todos los estados que apoyaron su posición, y hacia aquellos que, a través de su voto,expresaron su oposición a esta injusta Resolución que ignora los ataques asesinos perpetrados por Hamas y otras organizaciones terroristas contra civiles israelíes. La resolución también ignora las precauciones sin precedentes que tomaron las fuerzas israelíes para evitar dañar a civiles,
La adopción de esta resolución por el Consejo para los Derechos Humanos de las Naciones Unidas perjudica tanto el esfuerzo para proteger los derechos humanos de acuerdo a la ley internacional, como el esfuerzo para promover la paz en el Medio Oriente.
